LEIPZIG CHARTER ON SUSTAINABLE EUROPEAN CITIES

The Leipzig Charter on Sustainable European City was signed on March 24th 2007 in Leipzig (Germany), by 27 European Ministers in charge of urban planning and urban development. Contributing to the overall improvement of living conditions in urban areas of the EU, the signature of the Leipzig Charter represents also a historic moment as it was the first time that EU countries have agreed on strategies and principles for sustainable urban development.
